Description
Difficulty +1 Excursion carried out with measures against Covid 19

We begin our adventure to discover Nosy Be by embarking on the jeeps and along the way we can admire the exuberant nature typical of the island, a truly unique spectacle as we cross the immense tracts of cultivation of the Ylang-Ylang, breathtaking views with soft green hills from various shades, bays with white sand and turquoise sea. We will discover small typical colorful villages, where life goes on quiet and simple. We will visit the slopes of Mount Passot up to its summit, 324 meters above sea level, to enjoy its enchanting 360 degree view of the island and the coast.

In addition to the view, we will enjoy a delicious refreshing aperitif accompanied by fruit. We will continue the journey towards the Andilana beach where we will take a relaxing break that will increase our desire to dive into the transparent waters of this fantastic coral beach. We will enjoy a lunch immersed in a tropical garden near the sea, we will savor fish and meat dishes. In the afternoon we continue the excursion, stopping at the so-called Sacred Tree, a huge religious Ficus which, with its cascading roots and its huge trunk, covers an immense surface.

It is a great opportunity to increase and learn more about local traditions and animist culture.

We will then visit a small and fascinating eco-museum where, through exhibitions and photographs, we will discover the history of Nosy Be and its inhabitants and the flora and fauna of the island and we will have the opportunity to meet the adorable lemurs before returning to the hotel.

What to Expect

This excursion gives us the opportunity to get to know the island of Nosy Be through enchanting landscapes of land and sea, picturesque villages and expanses of ylang-ylang, a visit of Monte Passot the most panoramic point of the island and then take advantage of a swim on the most beautiful beach of the island.

Tips
  • Transport and facilities in Madagascar are not necessarily of the standard usually found in developed countries.
  • The local boats used in this excursion are generally quite small, so there is a risk that participants will get wet.
  • To participate in this excursion you must be able to swim.
  • As such, we do not recommend this excursion to guests who have back problems or who are otherwise not at peak fitness.
  • Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, since they depend on the behavior of the animals themselves or according to weather and sea conditions.
  • The color of the water and the visibility may vary depending on the weather.

  • Do not forget to bring your swimsuit, towels, sunglasses, sun cream, insect repellent for walks inside or adjacent to the forest/parks, your camera, and a long-sleeved, cotton top during the bath/snorkeling/trekking.
  • Toilets will be of local standards.
  • The excursion may be subject to variations in timing according to weather and sea conditions. Remember that the coral reef and everything that lives in it are really delicate, the PH of our skin is more acidic than the carapace of turtles, fish skin and corals, so if we touch them we risk contaminating them and causing them to die. All of us, guests of the Ocean, help us to introduce the next generation to the magical life of the coral reef.
