Description
Difficulty +1 Excursion carried out with measures against Covid 19

After the meeting with our guide we will dry the hotel in a mini-van, and we will leave to discover the big island.
Our first destination is Lemurialand, a park introduced on the island in the early 2000s, which is home to several species of Lemurs and other reptiles, amphibians, typical endemic plants.

Close to one of the largest ylang ylang plantations on the island. This tree, native to the Philippines and introduced to Nosy Be by the French at the end of the 19th century, has a delicate aroma flower, the distillation of which produces a series of high quality essential oils whose uses include the creation of prestigious perfumes.

After our guided tour of the plantation, we will enter one of the oldest ylang-ylang distilleries to discover the secrets of this production technique. Before leaving we will have time to do some shopping at the plantation shop.

On the way we will stop at a panoramic point from where we can admire a magnificent view of the bay. After taking some photos, we will continue our journey.

We then continue to the sacred forest of Bemazava, a sacred place where we will visit the sacred tree. We will then move to Hell Ville, the largest city on the island, to visit the local spice, fish and tropical fruit market. there are many possibilities to buy souvenirs, products of local artisans, wood carvings and lively tablecloths characterized by the traditional embroidery typical of Madagascar.

After the shopping we will continue to the seafront and the Court de Hell, to finish with a visit to the monument dedicated to the Russians and the fantastic view of the port of Nosy Be before to entry in direction of your hotel.

What to Expect

Tips
  • Transport and facilities in Madagascar are not necessarily of the standard usually found in developed countries.
  • The local boats used in this excursion are generally quite small, so there is a risk that participants will get wet.
  • To participate in this excursion you must be able to swim.
  • As such, we do not recommend this excursion to guests who have back problems or who are otherwise not at peak fitness.
  • Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed, since they depend on the behavior of the animals themselves or according to weather and sea conditions.
  • The color of the water and the visibility may vary depending on the weather.

  • Do not forget to bring your swimsuit, towels, sunglasses, sun cream, insect repellent for walks inside or adjacent to the forest/parks, your camera, and a long-sleeved, cotton top during the bath/snorkeling/trekking.
  • Toilets will be of local standards.
  • The excursion may be subject to variations in timing according to weather and sea conditions. Remember that the coral reef and everything that lives in it are really delicate, the PH of our skin is more acidic than the carapace of turtles, fish skin and corals, so if we touch them we risk contaminating them and causing them to die. All of us, guests of the Ocean, help us to introduce the next generation to the magical life of the coral reef.
